1. About us

Uncover Britain Ltd is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 10788492). “We”, “us” and “our” mean Uncover Britain Ltd; “you” means a user or purchaser. The website is www.uncoverbritain.com. Contact: hello@uncoverbritain.com.

These Terms apply to purchases of our new downloadable PDF guides and use of relevant website services. They do not retrospectively change contractual rights arising under earlier fixed-term online-access purchases.

2. What we supply

We publish general travel information and suggested self-drive routes for independent trip planning. PDF guides may include destinations, suggested stops, estimated journeys, points of interest, itinerary ideas and links to other resources. Features and contents differ between guides and are described on their product pages.

We do not sell packaged holidays, arrange customers’ bookings, supervise journeys, provide individual route-safety assessments or give personalised professional travel advice.

3. Prices and orders

Prices are displayed on each product page at the time of ordering. Our standard individual PDF price is currently £6.99, but prices and promotions may change. The final charge is shown before payment. Purchases are one-off transactions, with no automatic renewal.

We may correct an obvious pricing or description error and will contact affected customers to arrange a lawful resolution where an order has already been placed.

4. What you purchase: PDF delivery, downloading and safekeeping

Your purchase is for the downloadable PDF guide itself, not indefinite access to the webpage, customer portal, digital delivery service or download link on which the file is initially made available. The purchase price does not include ongoing file hosting, an online document library, repeat downloads for life or permanent availability of the original download page.

We normally make the PDF available through the checkout delivery process or an order email. You are expected to download the PDF promptly after purchase, save it to your own device or storage, and keep your own backup copy. Please do not rely on the original webpage or email link as your only copy.

Your purchase covers the PDF edition supplied at the time of purchase. It does not include future revisions, updated editions, additional chapters, replacement products, upgrades or ongoing content updates. If we publish a newer edition, this may be offered as a separate purchase. We may occasionally provide corrections or updates at our discretion, but doing so does not create an obligation to provide future versions free of charge. This does not affect any legally required remedy where the original digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet statutory requirements.

Once downloaded, you may keep, read offline and print the PDF for personal use without a fixed expiry date. This ongoing use applies to your saved copy of the PDF, not to any continuing right to access the place where it was hosted.

Download pages, links and delivery platforms may change, expire or be removed, and we do not undertake to maintain them indefinitely or to provide replacement download links forever. You are responsible for having a compatible PDF reader, providing a valid email address and making reasonable arrangements to retain your downloaded file.

If the file is not supplied as agreed, a provided download fails, or the PDF is defective, contact hello@uncoverbritain.com with your order details so we can assist and provide any remedy required by law. This clause does not reduce your statutory rights, including rights relating to delivery and conformity of digital content.

5. Customer accounts, inactivity and closure

Where a customer account is provided, it is an administrative facility for purchases, delivery or optional online resources. Buying a PDF does not include permanent account access, ongoing online storage, an indefinite download page or a lifetime right to retrieve the file again.

Please download your purchased PDF promptly, save it to your own device or storage and retain your own backup. Your saved PDF remains available for your personal use even if a customer account, original hosting page or download link is later closed or removed.

We may periodically review inactive accounts for administration, security, platform maintenance and data protection purposes. Accounts that have been inactive for 12 months or more may be considered for closure or deletion, taking account of any outstanding contractual obligations, legal requirements and reasonable customer needs. This is a review threshold, not an automatic deletion date or a promise that an account will remain open for at least 12 months.

Where reasonably practicable, we may notify customers in advance of planned account closure. Closure may remove access to account pages, purchase-history displays, online facilities and past download links. It does not delete or disable PDF copies you have already downloaded and saved.

Any personal data associated with a closed account will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may retain transaction records for applicable accounting, tax, legal or regulatory purposes.

Account closure does not reduce statutory consumer rights or entitlements expressly included in a paid purchase. Your purchase is for the edition originally supplied and does not include future revisions, updated editions or upgrades, save for any remedy required by law.

6. Free maps and optional online tools

Free interactive maps and optional itinerary-planning or personalisation tools are separate online resources unless expressly included as a paid feature in a product description. They require an internet connection and may rely on services such as Google Maps.

Free resources may be changed, updated, suspended or withdrawn where reasonably necessary, and third-party platforms may change their features or availability. A PDF purchase does not provide a promise of lifetime access to separate free online tools. Any paid feature expressly included in an order remains subject to the commitments made at purchase and applicable law.

7. Cancellation, refunds and digital content rights

For digital content supplied online, consumers generally have a 14-day cancellation right. If you request immediate supply during that period, you may lose that right only where the legally required express consent, acknowledgement of the loss of cancellation rights and contract confirmation have been provided. Where those requirements are not met, statutory cancellation rights continue as provided by law.

Where those conditions have been satisfied and supply has begun, we do not normally offer a discretionary refund merely because you change your mind.

Digital content must meet the statutory requirements that apply to it, including being as described. If it is faulty, not as described or not supplied as agreed, you may have rights to a remedy, including repair, replacement or a price reduction, potentially up to a refund as required by law. 8. Copyright and personal licence

Uncover Britain Ltd and applicable licensors retain the intellectual property rights in our guides, text, artwork, route descriptions, layouts, maps and other materials. Purchasing a PDF grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal, non-commercial use.

You may save copies to your own devices, make a personal backup, and print copies for your personal journey. You must not resell, publicly upload, republish, mass-share, distribute or commercially exploit our material, or remove applicable copyright attribution, without permission. You may share practical travel plans with members of your travelling party, but not redistribute the purchased guide itself beyond permitted personal use.

9. Travel information and independent verification

Our publications are informational and inspirational. They are not a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, suitability, safety, availability or a particular outcome. We take reasonable care preparing and editing material, but conditions and third-party information can change after publication without notice.

Before making any booking, purchasing tickets, committing to expenditure or travelling, you must independently check material details with current official sources, local authorities, venue operators, accommodation providers and relevant transport services.

Check in particular: road closures and restrictions; opening hours; charges; booking requirements; parking and overnight-stay rules; campsite arrangements; accessibility; public rights of way; weather; seasonal hazards; ferry timetables; permits; and local regulations. Distance and driving-time estimates are approximate, not promises.

Inclusion of an attraction, route, viewpoint, business or service does not mean it has been individually verified for your planned date, circumstances or vehicle.

10. Driving, vehicle suitability and activities

Suggested routes are not individually surveyed, certified or guaranteed suitable for a particular driver or vehicle. This is especially important for motorhomes, campervans, caravans and larger vehicles. You must assess road width, gradients, turning space, vehicle dimensions, weight limits, weather, parking, local access rules and your own experience before using a route.

Follow current road signs, legal requirements, closures, emergency instructions and up-to-date navigation information; never treat a guide or map as authority to ignore them. Travellers are responsible for deciding whether outdoor activities, walking routes, landscapes and attractions are appropriate for their abilities and circumstances, taking current safety advice into account.

These responsibilities do not remove any duty we owe you under applicable law.

11. Third-party bookings, links and services

Listings, links and mentions of attractions, accommodation, campsites, transport, restaurants and other services are provided as information, not guarantees or individual endorsements. You usually contract directly with the relevant provider, who controls its availability, prices, terms and service.

Check cancellation policies, facilities, accessibility, restrictions and booking terms directly before paying. We do not control third-party providers or their websites and are not responsible for their independent changes or failures except where the law makes us responsible.

12. Affiliate links

Some links may be affiliate links. We may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase, normally without additional cost to you. A commercial relationship does not amount to a promise about the suitability or performance of a third-party service. Any transaction is normally made directly with the provider.

13. Artificial intelligence and editorial process

We may use AI tools to assist with drafting, editing, research, imagery and presentation. Material is subject to our editorial review, but AI-assisted content, like other travel information, can contain errors or become outdated. Important operational and safety information should always be verified independently.

14. Website, hosting and online service availability

We aim to maintain access to our website, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Hosting pages, file delivery mechanisms and optional online tools may change or cease to operate. A purchase does not create a right to keep visiting or accessing the original PDF hosting page indefinitely. Your saved PDF remains usable offline, independently of the website. We will not use this clause to avoid paid-product commitments or statutory remedies, including those arising where a purchased file was not properly delivered.

15. Responsibility and limitation of liability

Our guides are intended for independent, personal travel planning, not commercial or professional reliance. We do not guarantee the continued operation of external attractions or services, or that suggested journeys suit every person or vehicle.

We are not responsible for losses arising solely from matters beyond our reasonable control, changes made independently by third parties, or a customer's failure to take reasonable steps to check current information or follow official safety requirements, except to the extent that we are legally responsible.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, failure to meet applicable statutory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Where we breach an applicable obligation, your lawful remedies remain available.

16. Payments, privacy and cookies

Orders are processed through the website's supported payment providers. We do not ordinarily receive or store your full payment card number. We process personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy. For cookie choices and further data protection information, please see that policy and the site's consent controls.

17. Reviews and feedback

If you voluntarily submit a review or testimonial, it should be genuine, lawful and respectful. Subject to applicable data protection law, you permit us to reproduce that feedback for website and marketing purposes, with reasonable edits that do not alter its meaning.

18. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version applying to a purchase will generally be the version in effect when the order was made, subject to applicable law and validly agreed changes. New terms will not retrospectively remove rights connected with earlier purchases.

Previous online-access purchases: Uncover Britain stopped offering new fixed-term online-access guide purchases on 29 October 2026. Customers who purchased under that earlier model retain their original contractual and statutory rights; these PDF purchase terms do not replace those earlier terms.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your country of residence. Disputes may be brought before courts having jurisdiction under applicable law. Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can attempt to resolve it.
