About data we use and store
Please read before using our website
Privacy Policy – Uncover Britain
1. Sales & Purchase
When you make a purchase, you provide details to complete the payment and access our online content. We may communicate with you via the contact information provided about your purchase or related products.
We do not see or are able to store any payment details such as your full card number. We do not store billing details. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, which encrypts your payment information. Uncover Britain only has access to a customer ID and the last four digits of your card number for verification and security purposes. For more information on Stripe’s data processing, please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy. We hold a Data Processing Agreement with Stripe as our Data Processor. We also process data via our Member plugin, who process the payments via Stripe and with this Data Processing Agreement.
2. Your Account & Data Retention
To access your online product, you must provide a valid email address, first name, and surname, and create a password. This data is stored securely within our membership system to enable product access.
Data Retention: Your account data is stored for a minimum of 12 months to provide continued access. This is Account Activity data and is not related to the data we are required to store for legally required financial audits from the HMRC, for example, where we are required to hold this data for a minimum of seven years.
Inactive Accounts: Accounts that are inactive for a minimum of 90 days may be removed periodically unless a grace period is requested.
Inactive Account Removal: Accounts that have remained inactive for 24 months will be deleted, and no notice will be given.
Right to Be Forgotten: You can request account deletion at any time by emailing hello@uncoverbritain.com.
For administration and security purposes, our system records details such as email logs and account activity. If you do not consent to this, you may request account closure.
We do not share your personal information unless:
You have explicitly consented (e.g., for promotional activities).
We are legally required to do so (e.g., fraud investigations, law enforcement requests).
3. Sales Enquiries
If you contact us via email, phone, or social media, your contact details and enquiry will be stored in the relevant platform. This information is not shared unless you explicitly request us to liaise with a third party on your behalf.
4. Marketing & Communications
Our email subscriber list follows a double opt-in system. You will receive an email confirmation before being added to marketing communications.
You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email or by contacting us directly.
Inactive subscribers will be periodically removed.
5. Cookie & Activity Tracking
Upon entering our website, you will be asked to accept cookies. You may decline, but this may limit your access to certain features.
We use standard tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) to assess marketing effectiveness and website activity. These tools track IP addresses and site interactions for performance insights.
Facebook & Instagram Marketing: We may use advertising tools to target individuals who have previously interacted with our services or website.
Affiliate Tracking: Some links on our website may be affiliate links, meaning we receive compensation at no extra cost to you. Purchases made via these links may be tracked using unique URLs or cookies.

7. Data Security & Retention
Security Measures: We employ encryption, access controls, hardened infrastructure and regular audits to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or breach.
Storage Duration: We retain your personal data only as long as needed for our legitimate business purposes—and for a minimum of seven years to comply with HMRC and statutory audit requirements. This includes transactional records (invoices, payments, billing details), contractual agreements, VAT and tax documentation, and any correspondence or consents related to those transactions. Activity pertaining to your account and access data does not fall under this classification.
8. Consent Management
We rely on your consent for certain processing activities (e.g., marketing). You may withdraw or refresh your consent at any time by emailing hello@uncoverbritain.com—we’ll update our records and confirm once completed.
